Over the past few years, I have had the pleasure of coordinating several weddings at the beautiful Ocean Institute in Dana Point, California.
The Ocean Institute is a unique venue, doubling as an environmental research facility. Each year, thousands of visitors enjoy exploring The Pilgrim (a full-sized replica of the hide brig of Richard Henry Dana Jr.’s classic novel Two Years Before The Mast), discovering the wonders of the tide pools, and learning about marine science and maritime history.
Companies and small groups host social events at the Ocean Institute, while some lucky couples are even able to celebrate an unforgettable wedding day on the property, dancing the night away with friends and family under the 25-foot Grey-Whale Skeleton in the Samueli Center. When it gets chilly, you can snuggle up by the gas-powered fireplace as you watch for shooting stars above your head.
With the Samueli Conference Center, Surfscience Deck, and the Executive Boardroom, you are sure to find the perfect setting for your event. From a small meeting with an oceanfront view to a 250-person wedding or corporate event, the Ocean Institute has the space for any occasion.

To top it all off, the wonderful management team at the Ocean Institute goes out of their way to make sure your event runs smoothly, so you can sit back and enjoy watching your vision come to life.
