“I absolutely love The Plaza” -Eloise

Oh, The Plaza Hotel! Featured in countless movies, television shows, and works of literature, the mere mention of this iconic hotel conjures images of black-tie celebrity gatherings under the glorious chandeliers of the Grand Ballroom. The Plaza has become the ultimate destination when visiting New York. Whether you are meeting friends for afternoon tea at The Palm Court, bringing your children to stay in Eloise’s “pink, pink, pink room” or planning a once-in- a-lifetime event, The Plaza, like New York, is always a good idea!

If you are celebrating your engagement, you may be considering wedding venues, and depending on your style, The Plaza’s opulence may seem like the perfect setting for your big day. Even if you’re not a native New Yorker, a destination wedding to the city that never sleeps might be fun.

If you’ve seen the movie Bride Wars – and if you haven’t, you’ve been missing out! – you may already be familiar with the fabled Manhattan wedding venue. Most of us can relate to Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson’s characters as they dream of their weddings at The Plaza…but is it a real possibility?  Celebrating your wedding day at The Plaza can be a reality, but pricing depends on a wide range of factors, including your chosen wedding date, number of guests (minimum 200), and your overall vision and choice of vendors.

On our recent visit to New York, The Plaza’s staff was generous enough to allow Sparkling Sóirees a glimpse into this legendary property, including a tour of the exquisite Grand Ballroom and The Terrace Room. The ambiance, décor, and history of The Plaza is unforgettable. Ideas for lush and lavish wedding days have been swirling through our imaginations ever since.

The Grand Ballroom is stunning, adorned with gold crown molding and hand-painted ceiling embellishments, and is the ultimate in glamour and elegance. The Terrace Room has been restored to its original grandeur with stunning crystal chandeliers designed by Charles Winston. Your guests would certainly be in awe as they join you to dance the night away.

Attending a wedding at The Plaza can be an incredible experience for your out-of-town guests, too. For those guests staying at the hotel or nearby, The Plaza offers an array of amenities within the hotel to meet any needs. The Todd English Food Hall provides a vast selection of cuisines daily from 10am-10pm, and 24-hour in-room dining will keep your guests well-fed while they are exploring the excitement of New York City.

Let your dreams for a wedding at The Plaza come to life. If you can’t get to New York, a local venue space can be transformed to reflect the unique and timeless spirit of the Grand Ballroom. Whether you have visions of luxury or want to create a whimsical world Eloise would be proud of, the wedding coordinators of Sparking Sóirees can help you create a custom reflection of The Plaza’s iconic style.
